We purchased a property in Spain in 2015. After a recommendation we opted to select the services of Luis Thomas (estate agent). Looking back this was probably one of the best decisions we have ever made. For us Luis is worth his weight in gold. We spoke over the phone a few times before I embarked on my journey to Spain to look for properties and gather information.
From the very beginning Luis guided us through each process. He was extremely truthful on every front. He listened to us when explaining what type of property, we wanted and what was important to us. He took me to see numerous properties within my budget, and he quickly got a feel for what I was liking and what I didn’t. From there he was able to eliminate properties he knew I wouldn’t be happy with and we concentrated more on the properties I was attracted to.
After a busy 2 or 3 days’ house hunting we arrived at our now purchased property. I knew, and Luis knew this was the one for us. We decided to go ahead with the purchase.
Luis helped us with absolutely everything, he took us to open a bank account, get help on securing a mortgage, arranging the NiE numbers, making appointments with lawyers and the notary to finalise the purchase. He was absolutely brilliant in every way when we were nearing completion of the sale. It is a very big decision to make buying a property overseas. We are so glad now we went ahead with it, but I must be honest and say that I don’t think we would have been able to do it without the guidance, professionalism and care Luis took over us.
After the sale we needed to arrange lots of things like installing air conditioning, finding someone who did canopies. We also needed a plumber and electrician to install an outside kitchen and do various jobs. I asked Luis if he could help or point us in the right direction with all of this. Again, he was brilliant – he has a good network of really reliable and competitively priced professionals in all of these areas. He basically arranged visits and quotes from all of them and we were delighted with their work.
We now know lots of people within the area we purchased and they said we were very lucky to have landed the services of Luis because they explained that the estate agents they used basically abandoned them after the sale was complete.
Luis is one of the most professional, trustworthy and helpful people we know and we would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending him to anyone who is about to take the plunge in investing in property in Spain. We can’t thank him enough for everything he has done for us. We look forward to selling and purchasing with him again in the future.
